In the months leading up to the 2020 presidential election, President Trump launched a fusillade of unsubstantiated attacks against mail-in voting, claiming that its widespread adoption would lead to a rigged election. Considering that mailing ballots would be the safest way for millions of Americans to vote amid a pandemic, we felt an urgency to stand up for its legitimacy — and what better way to do so than with facts? Building on CNN’s Facts First campaign, “No Matter What, We Vote” shows how Americans have voted by mail during major crises throughout history to prove that it’s not a novelty — and that, no matter what challenges we face, we always find a way to vote.
